Love Sandra, especially in better made movies like 'While you were Sleeping '. This one falls flat. It has some funny moments but also some head scratching ones as well. If you're going to follow the formula, then follow the formula! They don't develop chemistry much between the two, with aloofness keeping them apart. It's only till the very last moments that they finally decide to join them together and then the freaking shows over. What?!?? Why?? I waited till the end for this?!?? Was going to tell my wife about this and then watch it with her, but the end and the lack of relationship development did it in. And it's just off the wall goofy what they did with poor Betty White's character..

Disappointed in Mom (Sandra Bullock) and Dad (Ryan Reynolds). I think they're better separated (I’ll let you decide whether I mean the characters or the actors). Maybe they just weren’t a good pair on screen or maybe that’s just how 2009 was, and right now it’s 2025 so the world looks different. Love them both, but didn’t love this film.

Beautiful scenery, sexy actors and good acting. Every scene a cliché.

It is super cliche and some scenes doesn’t even make sense.

Formulaic, but otherwise a well done and watchable romcom.

For whatever reason, "The Proposal" seems to be the romantic comedy that has been talked about more than any other in my circles for years. I finally decided to give it a watch and I think it is charming and funny enough. I do think it is very safe and formulaic but Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock work well together in it. The movie features laughs, romance, and even some genuine sweetness that make it easy to like. I do feel there are definitely better romantic comedies out there, but this one is still a decent one. Overall, I enjoyed it enough and can see why it is a guilty pleasure for so many, and even though it is not really anything super original or unique, it's easy to fall for its simple charms.

Since when do they deport to Canada? Good looking cast with a tired story. Actually deporting these two back to Canada is a very good idea.

A comprehensive take on the romance drama, while being competently hilarious. The dynamic between Reynolds and Bullock is absolutely astonishing. With amazing talent from Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock, and Betty White, they steal the show to tell a wholesome, amazing story.
