- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars20 years old and director Ken Kwapis manages to successfully adapt the best-selling book by Ann Brasheres with much respect. | was afraid I was gonna hate it but it ended up being a very charming story about how a pair of pants can bring 4 friends together no matter what changes happen. Bridget is in Mexico on a soccer team seemingly falling for her coach. Tibby is at home working a dead end job while also filming her new documentary with a pesky neighbor. Carmen is off to see her dad finding out he’s set up a new life for himself. Lena is in Greece visiting her relatives falling in love with a local who’s actually forbidden to see her. Each of them experience new beginnings, unexpected developments, heartbreak, and new realizations. Of course they also have to deal with the difficulties of growing into adulthood next to love, loss, and learning to let go. The journey to maturity can be challenging but you’ll always have friends to count on. We can all learn to love ourselves, love our sisters, learn from our mistakes, be brave. Their problems are handled in very mature, realistic ways without being overly sentimental. The Greek landscapes are gorgeous. Definitely hits you hard emotionally towards the end. Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, and Amber Tamblyn are all perfectly cast too. Friendship, individualism, and life’s possibilities are what this movie capitalizes on in excellent degrees. It’s a great viewing for young girls depicting the women as excited, confused, impetuous, and determined but for other family members as well to soak up the wonderful themes mainly the universal struggles of adolescence and friendship being bigger than any of our differences.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI watched the second one before having a chance to watch this one. At first, after watching the second one, I didn't have a good understanding of how the "sisters" are very close together. With this one, I really like the concept of implementing the usage of traveling pants to bring familial ties and the openness of sharing one's concerns. Each of the four leading female characters had unique stories, yet brought a subtle bond that made the movie good to watch. Jenna Boyd also was a spotlight while watching the film. Now with the second film, the stories tie up together and bring a lot of good impressions.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsWell acted from the young cast but the film never gets going. 2 hours is too much for this
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsLoved this movie when it first came out & years later it seems to mean even more. A connective friendship we all can remember having at one point of our lives, that we remember as one of the happy lifetimes we once lived. Nothing but a smile & a warming nostalgia waiting at the end of this film.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe central premise isn't great but the cast makes it really cute.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsFeaturing a mostly grounded story and solid performances from the star-studded cast, this film manages to share truths and experiences many young people experience from the perspective of four teenage girls.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsBlake Lively makes this predictable movie come alive. I didn't know she was such a good soccer player <grin>. I liked the seaside scenes filmed in Greece too.
