- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat movie with amazing subtleties and nuances. Strong performances, fresh premise, and very thought provoking.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI liked this movie very much. It was an interesting concept and well acted. I wonder if these types of sound people really exist?
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsEnjoyable film with a deep intellectual undertone (no pun intended). The acting performance were pristine, muffled only by a plot that lacked a robust substance. Impressively shot with a magnificent sound team, this film is worth watching.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsHints at the considerable amount of potential it has but just doesn't develop it's premise or characters enough.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsWhy are the last 3-5 minutes of the movie black - no lights? It was a vast waste of time!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt was ok, not what I expected.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI am a professional acoustician. At first, I thought, "so the stuff about sound is complete nonsense, but it's fun." And it went downhill from there. The stuff about sound was infantile nonsense. It's not clear whether the protagonist is just nuts. And the end completely cops out. Nice shots of NYC, nice score.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsNothing happened. Waste.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsWhile it loses a little focus towards the end, The Sounds Of Silence gets carried by strong performances from Sarsgaard and Jones, whoes silent chemistry is the strenght of the story. It wont be for everyone, but mainly for people that could appreciate a story about a odd profession.
