There were a few good scenes but in the end this was a disappointment. They should've made a brand new movie instead of copying the original. Tim Treakle

A beat by beat remake that only changes the main characters and their relationship to something much blander than the gut wrenching original.

Most boring thing ever literally falling asleep during the movie. Most basic “horror” movie. Weak jumpscares. I want my money back !!!!

Harlin’s reboot kicks off with promise, but CHAPTER 2 will be the real test—whether it raises the stakes or leans on familiar ground.

When their car breaks down, a couple is forced to stay at an ABNB til it is repaired. Bunch of masked guys try to kill them. Seriously. I have no idea what the motive of the villains is. I guess that's the point but if I want mindless carnage, I'll watch a film with the Joker in it. I didn't pay attention and had no idea Harlin directed this. Although I enjoyed Nightmare on Elm Stree 4 and Die Hard 2, he's pretty much put out crap after crap film. I looked at his rankings on RT and very few are liked by critics nor audience. How does he keep getting jobs? I've not seen the original and this film is a reboot for a planned trilogy. Unless someone else directs them, I won't bother. Not recommended.

If you haven't seen the original then maybe you would like it. It tried to be like the original but failed, miserable. Good enough that I'm wondering how they are going to keep it going.

Forsure one of the worst horror movies I’ve ever seen. The “subtle foreshadowing” of including “chapter 1” in the name is nowhere to be found in the entire runtime of this movie. Terrible acting, terrible decisions by the actors, terrible plot. A frustratingly long watch

The main problem with this movie is that its a reboot and there has not been enough time passed between both that one can't compare.

It had amazing source material but sadly ended up failing even to try a shot by shot remake. Lets just put this away please and never speak of it again.
