The Tax Collector

I was incredibly invested in the characters and the story, the build-up was fast paced and intense as an action, crime-drama should be. Unfortunately, it amounted to nothing. The first time I watched this movie I could not continue after Shia’s character was killed off after being portrayed as a heavy supporting character in a debatably meaningless way. After finishing the movie at a later date, his death and David’s wife’s still adds up to a meaningless ending. I understand the film’s intention of a “realistic” story, but that doesn’t make it good. Not even remotely. I’m sure it was a struggle to get through for most. My biggest beef with this movie is that it built David and Creeper as a bad ass duo that would at least fight a little bit to back up all the talk and then proceeded to not do that at all. 10/10 would recommend the first 45 minutes for the film, everything after is pointless.

Great movie! I just watched this movie four times. Well put together. Some scenes I didn’t see coming. Loved the grit of the movie and action. All the actors did phenomenal!! 10/10

George lopez as og and shia as an enforcer is wild but they pulled it off

it gave me what I wanted to kill 2 hours. gritty , violent 80s type street gang stuff. remember hillstreet blues?

The movie is filled with gore. The excessive use of guns has become the standard in most action thriller movies. The ever ongoing greed, betrayal, and corruption presented is used ad nausea. Many hard working individuals and business owners are subjected to extortion from these gangs. It brings to mind the movie series Sicario. The love of their own personal families is a farce. The destruction they cause other people and their families contradicts "love of family" or even "love of God". Then one needs to ask, "What do they do with all the money they extort"? Their lives are always in high gear adrenalin. What a life! Yikes.

How did this only get a 17%. SUCH a good movie!!!!! Also sad though the end made me cry

It's sad to see Shia Labeouf to participate in this low quality movies, his ears didn't make sense and was distracting, confusing when the Mexican was the actual one doing Judo! Overall disappointing, I would like to see him in a movie with a richer story, definitely a quick buck movie for him, trying to give a push to the Marketing of a lacking acting production.

B rated at best. It has tons of potential and the story line is there, however it leaves you questioning specific connections between characters. Hopefully they will do a sequel telling the backstory of these characters.
