The Unthinkable

- Rating: 4 out of 5 starstruly a remarkable and unique film. i highly recommend this even though i suspect it won’t appeal to the majority (it has cult classic aspects. and not pop cult, but true cult, like back when cult meant the flick wasn’t mainstream pop for the masses). great writing directing acting cinematography, effects. everything is on point. it felt a little slow in spots, but also painful to watch and i think it felt slow because i wanted the pain to end. but it’s not an escapist action flick. with a depressing ending which makes it a great film to watch with miracle mile and melancholia. enjoy?
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThe only thing that is even remotely good about this film is the cinematography Don’t believe any review that tells you about compelling characters or their relationship to one another The film is riddled with weird actions/decisions by characters. It also has strange dialogue; this might be a translation issue but it feels more just like poor script writing. The plot is convoluted and the mixing of action and story is quite frankly terrible, it feels as if they decided on the action first and wrote the script around it to try and justify. There’s also one or two cuts to other storylines which are pointless and jarring, and add nothing to the building of the narrative At several points I almost stoped watching this is actually my second attempt to watch this film ( I gave up in the 1st 15 minutes on my first attempt) I watched the full thing to see if it got better and by the end I couldn’t care less about any character and I was glad it finally finished. Not a film I would ever re watch or recommend to anyone
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsI love a good disaster thriller, and I especially love them when they spend time developing characters so that you care about them when the disaster hits. This movie has the elements to make it great, including some really good actors, but the plot is so drawn out and the conclusion so unsatisfying that in my opinion it wasn't worth the watch. I won't remember anything about this movie in a week, which ironically, is apropos.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcellent film about relationships and how they can survive upheaval and catastrophe. Don't make the mistake of not watching this movie all the way through. It starts with developing important relationships. You care about the people in this story. Those who failed to give the movie a chance know nothing of character development or storytelling. This movie has a powerful story and strong performances by the entire cast. I hope you stick it out to the end.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsJust not a good movie. The first half is a drama which didn't quite manage to get me to care about the characters so it was just boring if not frustrating. The second half is more actiony but it's not well paced and the plot isn't clear, so even though it was the actiony part it didn't even hold my attention. Pretty forgettable really.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsAlthough the suspense is very well managed, the plot is poor even with a two hours duration and in the end it just looks like black propaganda against Russia.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA great catastrophe-movie
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt was just ok. For low budget it wasn't bad but unrealistic. Sure an attack could happen but there was almost no defense at all. It's like they had a total of 100 soldiers total . Again I would never watch it again but it passed the time
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis movie is diving into the usual father-son, family, our-people and love-of -my-live relationships standards as we've seen so many, but there is an interesting substory above that that makes it standing out, so if you are into combinations of the known and the unknown it might be interesting for you
