More of the "be afraid" garbage for the idiots that think they are the "chosen"

I overrated it and lied. Sure it's at best a 60, but the average so far is 20%, and it's hokey and implausible at times, but still entertaining and suspenseful throughout.

To share with you that I correctly predicted the outcome of this movie within the first 10 minutes says more about the quality of the film itself than any brilliance on my part. Calling this a preposterous movie is an insult to preposterous movies. In a strange sort of way, I suppose it's almost impressive to be able to take such a potentially suspenseful plot and produce a motion picture without a moment of tension or interest. It's frankly one of the sloppiest screenplays I've witnessed in quite some time - minor characters and plot devices are introduced and immediately forgotten. Character development and interaction are often laughable and unrealistic. Frankly, you'll get more of an adrenaline rush watching an episode of MURDER, SHE WROTE. Performances range from pedestrian to embarrassing, although a barely recognizable Jason Patric as the town sheriff does have a couple compelling moments. This whole enterprise is like an avalanche of mediocrity - almost as if everyone was improvising what should happen next from scene to scene. And what really pisses me off is that I stayed up past my bedtime to finish watching this. This is like sub-par mid-2000s Shyamalan product - and not worth your time unless you're REALLY bored.

Decent Thriller for a movie night. Plot isn’t realistic but that’s part of the fun.

Sounded intriguing, decent cast etc but such a waste of a couple of hours. Unconvincing characters, several plot holes and a twist at the end that failed to elicit any response except indifference. A really disappointing film.

Tedious, overly long, at times I actually thought it was a comedy. Hysterical for all the wrong reasons. Acting appalling, Never seen all but one of the 'actors' before and don't expect to see them again after this showing. Stupid, lazy, predictable, risible; total waste of nearly two hours. Ridiculous throughout and the ending was laughable - did they run out of money? I'd have given it No Stars but apparently thats not possible.. Go find something more interesting to do.

I thought this was a pretty good movie. Good suspense and I loved the twists and turns the story took. I think it's worth a watch.

The Vanished is a film which deals with the disappearance of a child, which is every parent's worst nightmare. From the outset it seems impossible that their child could have gone missing in the manner in which she did and so one's suspicions fly from one character to another before the film concludes with a satisfying twist. I felt compelled to leave this review as I think the movie deserves a much higher rating than it has generally received. It's definitely worth a watch and is well acted. The behaviour of one character seemed unnatural to me, and I wondered if it was bad acting or writing, but it all made sense in the end.

Thomas Jane and Anne Heche play a couple camping in their RV when they discover their young daughter has disappeared. Things go from bad to worse when they ignore the police advice and sneak out to look for her themselves. Jason Patric co stars in this mystery thriller. This isn't too bad, while there are some parts that drag a bit, the final act is pretty good.

An unsettling thriller that is better than other reviews give it credit for. It keeps your interest and has unexpected twists. (First and only viewing - 8/11/2022)
