The Visit

Here, [Shyamalan] loosened up, shed some of his ego, and reminded all of us what a gifted writer and director he truly is.

M. Night Shyamalan made another good movie, and I'm as surprised as you are.

The Visit is a pleasant surprise.

It triumphantly reinvents the genre, in a way that allows Shyamalan to combine suspense with witty running commentary on the art of filmmaking itself.

For all its intelligence and craft, M. Night Shyamalan's foray into the genre of found-footage horror has the feeling of homework done well.

Bring back The Last Airbender!

The Visit is a return to form for Shyamalan.

While Shyamalan doesn’t reinvent the wheel with “The Visit”, he does show the creative flourishes that made him a respected name and overnight success in the horror-thriller genre.

It’s all a very transparent metaphor for family reconciliation and what happens when your old wounds don’t heal.

This would be a perfect movie to kind of study because it's written really, really well and the scripting and dialogue and just the overall story structure is perfect.
