I don’t know what movie some people were watching but this is just a bad movie

This film had the potential to be great! But do to lazy writing it falls completely flat.

Tried to be Beloved and failed.

Very messy and lazy use of great actors and premise. Absolutely no story, just messy montage at the end.

great movie, great acting, good plot with subpar execution of said plot

I really liked it. But I think it could've used more scenarios, more characters and story. The idea was amazing but the final result wasn't really as expected. It could be more elaborated. Anyways it was a good movie to watch.

Wish I could get that hour and half back since this movie is a confusing mess. Started off like any thriller, but went off on a path of a grieving mother dealing with guilt and debating suicide and an ending that was as confusing as the entire movie. Waste of time and not a great ending, no point to this movie.

Basically the babadook plot

While it is a psychological thriller it is one of the worst horror movies has come out this year would not recommend it

Once you change your mindset from this being a “horror” movie, and watch it for what it actually is, it’s excellent. This is a very real, hard and honest portrayal of depression and grief and all of the other ugly parts of mental health that are not talked about enough. It isn’t marketed correctly as a horror movie, which may be why it has lower ratings. But give it a shot for what it should be listed as instead.
