The most political film that Carpenter has ever made is like riding on a moving train with a destination that is unknown and remains curiously and thematically ambiguous even after the final reveal.

This is peak 1980's B-Horror, and John Carpenter's 3rd best film behind The Thing and Halloween. I came here to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and I'm all out of bubble gum! Roddy Piper is legendary, I guarantee by the end of this one you be suplexing your neighbour while ordering a shotgun off the internet!

A film that sadly becomes more and more relevant. Very fun story and interesting premise, one of those which could be remade to fix some of the issues around acting and graphics now.

Terrible dialogue, Tom and Jerry violence, ropey acting, good basic concept but impossible to buy into.

It was going very well until it got really damn stupid fast. It's as if they said "Hey, it's the 80s, people WANT to see some action". The dialogue got really horrible too at the same time. It was a cool idea that derailed.

    They Live..they live among us
  • Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
A clever, politically conscious sci-fi action film from John Carpenter.
  • Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
A science fiction story well-matched for John Carpenter's methodical filmmaking style.

Pretty awesome for an 80s movie, it definitely relates to todays world

Interesting concept. I really liked the fighting scenes, because they actually feel real, unlike some movies that feel like watching anime characters fight. I think that our world is essentially run by "people" shown in the movie. I wish more people would just put their sunglasses on to see the world as it is.
