Tiger Stripes
audience Reviews
, 36% Audience Score- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsA Charming Piece of Period Body Horror. ‘Tiger Stripes’ is the kind of film many of us would have loved to have as we were hitting puberty. The film is like a warm hug for those who figured it all out under different chaotic circumstances. It effectively captures the horrors of puberty alongside the awkward and uncomfortable moments that still haunt most of us.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThe story itself is very confusing,I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone🙅🏼♀️
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsRural Malaysia. Zaffan is a rebellious 12yo girl who has just reached puberty. She starts experiencing hideous mutations in her body, gradually transforming into a fierce animal. Rejected by other girls in school, the girl often manifests violent outbursts that seem to have a contagious effect on the other pupils. The transition to womanhood has a dramatic impact in the main character. "Tiger Stripes" unleashes the monster that is often perceived in a female body going through the process of growing up. A decent body horror movie with a visceral perspective on coming-of-age storytelling.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsStarted out so beautifully and would have loved for the story to continue exploring attitudes and emotions, rather than becoming a total supernatural allegory devoid of human motivations.
