Tijuana Jackson: Purpose Over Prison

A realistic but funny view on life from the perspective of an ex convict.

i wasnt sure what to expect from this movie, but it was hilarious from start to finish, and it had real character development and a lot of good writing that was totally out of the blue given the slapstick tone that remains throughout the film. some of the humor is pretty low brow, but it's never really crude or offensive. i thought this was going to be a 70% at best, but i think it deserves more than a 90%. it's rare to see comedy movies of this variety really show out with a backbone to the script and solid performances all around. i was very surprised that it didn't devolve into nonsense later on like many movies of this genre, but instead followed through with a consistent pace and quality.

This movie is so down to earth and what real life been missing! It's super funny but also super thought provoking. If you get pass laughing the deeper message is there!

This was a great comedy with some serious undertones. Regina Hall and Romany Malco were a perfect match. I was not disappointed.

The movie was extremely funny. Each character was portrayed amazing with extra excitement about Tammy. I always appreciate the work of Romany and Regina because of their body of work but I was really delighted to see how Tammy performed. Mostly important the film may have been in comedy format but it was true to life. After working a career in corrections for almost 20 years coupled with life experiences they hit the mark. There are many life lessons and reality in the comedy.

Tj is a great character, very well concepted. This a sleeper indie hit with lots of substance and strong black leads. Great movie and lots of rewatch value. This movie had me straight in there like to fingers on prom night.
