One of the best comedies ever made, especially for the 90’s. It is endlessly quotable and is still frequently referenced today.

While I didn't like the film per se, I did like watching David Spade Maybe its a cultural thing, as i'm not american - but the way Chris farley's character was behaving was quite abrasive, his constant sreaming . I usually root for the underdog characters, but he was straight up nagging. If we're gonna make a feel good film at least have it feel good Still, don't regret watching cause of D. Spade ( he made the film for me. )

This a 90's classic with Chris Farley and David Spade. It's about a recent college graduate who goes back to his hometown where his father owns the local car parts manufacturing plant that's been in his family for over 70 years. His father unfortunately passes away and the company is now in financial trouble. In a leap of faith, Tommy boy is set to go across the country with his father's former assistant Richard, to go and pitch/sell enough products, before they get bought out by Zalinsky Auto Parts, a rival company. There is some great comedy in this movie, with Chris Farley doing his signature physical comedy. Sometimes this movie seems like it's slightly borrowing off "Planes Trains and Automobiles", although this movie is for sure not at that same level. The "emotional" scenes seem a little forced and are poorly acted. They don't seem like they are really mad at each other and so those scenes just don't work too well. Some scenes seem really rushed, not letting the scene breath a little. With all that said, this is a fun movie that will get some laughs out of you. It's a fun movie, that I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time.

"Tommy Boy" is one of those comedic gems that instantly captures your attention and keeps you laughing, even if you feel a bit ridiculous for doing so. Its outrageousness is amplified by Chris Farley's larger-than-life performance, making it a truly unforgettable film. Paired with the comedic brilliance of David Spade, the duo creates magic on screen. I genuinely believe it's a phenomenal movie, regardless of its quirks. The direction was spot on, and it hit theaters at just the right moment in pop culture. It's a shame that younger audiences today may not fully appreciate the humor that set this film apart from contemporary movies. This is undoubtedly a classic with a fantastic narrative arc—beginning, middle, and end—that makes it well worth a watch. It’s hilariously goofy, wildly entertaining, and undeniably clever.

There’s a bit of unnecessary foul language and it felt a little more silly than funny, but Farley’s energetic performance is hard to resist.
