Tragedy Girls
audience Reviews
, 61% Audience Score- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI was quite disappointed in this movie. It has a strong opening scene, but then just slid further and further into "OMG girlboss" nonsense. The protagonists were so unlikeable that I was rooting for anything ANYTHING to give them what they were due. There were no payoffs. "The bad girls win every time and get away with it with no stakes or consequences and everyone cheered." They weren't even fun to watch. There wasn't a sliver of believability to them not getting caught either.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsWOW THIS MOVIE WAS ON A GOOD TRACK IN THE BEGINNING, BUT I TOTALLY AGREE WITH ALL THE OTHER VIEWERS THIS WAS A TOTAL MESS AFTERWARDS. THIS CANT BE TO SERIOUS OF A MOVIE WITH TEENAGE GIRLS THAT ARE OBSESS OF THEMSELFS AND SOCIAL MEDIA. I SURE WAS HOPING THEM LUNATICS GOT CAUGHT AT THE END I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsHelp why was it so bad. It was so cringy it was hilarious and i couldnt stop laughing from absolute CRINGE.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI saw the high ratings and thought I’d give Tragedy Girls a chance. What a mistake. What had potential in the first quarter of the movie quickly went off the rails quickly. I didn’t just dislike it, I hated it. And we have complete stupidity at the end. Avoid “Tragedy Girls”, what a horrible movie.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis film is a pretty accurate depiction of the crossing of serial killer and social media. It is watchable but did not keep me on the edge of my seat. It not something I will remember much of jn a few weeks. The acting is good but no one really stands put or captivates me.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsAwful movie. The main characters were so annoying I only watched to the end to see them get caught or suffer or something but there was nothing like that. Save yourself the time, don’t watch.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsTragedy Girls attempts to blend dark comedy with horror elements, but unfortunately, it falls short of delivering a cohesive and engaging experience. The film centers around two high school friends who are obsessed with gaining social media fame by orchestrating a series of murders. While the premise is intriguing and the lead actresses give commendable performances, the execution leaves much to be desired. The movie struggles with tone, often swinging between satire and gore without finding a balanced middle ground. This inconsistency makes it challenging to connect with the story and its characters. The humor, which is meant to be dark and edgy, sometimes feels forced and detracts from the overall impact of the film. Additionally, the plot is predictable and lacks the twists and depth needed to keep the audience invested. While the film does have moments of cleverness, they are few and far between, making it a frustrating watch for those looking for a more sophisticated take on the genre. Overall, Tragedy Girls is a mixed bag that doesnt quite live up to its potential. Its an ambitious effort, but one that ultimately misses the mark.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsI'm extremely tired of this type of movie. The prototype for it would probably be 'American Psycho', but even if you wanted a more exact blueprint, there was a movie made about 15 years ago with America Olivo called 'Neighbor' which - I kid you not - is pretty much this exact same idea. The other duplicates, I can barely even remember by name, but let me put it to you this way: the moment Chris Durand's character was shown to have been kept alive (which happens around the 20-30 minute mark) I knew *exactly* how this was going to end. Even the series 'Ozark' ended on a similar kind of "bUt iN rEAL LiFE dOnT tHE bAD gUyS sO oFTeN wINnNnN???" trope... The answer to this is obviously yes - but there is virtually no insight into WHY "the bad guys" so often succeed in real life. Because here's a hint: it's almost always the same combination of wealth, socio-political power, connections, circumstances, foresight, etc. But what *doesn't* happen in today's age? Multiple people who constantly (and I mean **constantly**) thrust themselves into the front of every discussion about a crime somehow remain above suspicion by being "cute" or "innocent" or young... In today's world of viral videos? EVERYBODY is accused of EVERYTHING by SOMEONE. And anyone honored with public praise or bestowed with success due to something bad happening? They are *definitely* not going to be above suspicion. ...Especially when, you know, virtually every crime which takes place involves/happens at the high school with their students front-and-center. This all may seem overly critical and nitpicky for a "horror/comedy." But this movie is so light on the "comedy" part that it's all but impossible to focus on anything else except the dark humor of seeing these two young kids as *actually* vicious serial offenders. And nothing they do ever measures up to be amusing, much less believably violent. Instead it comes across more like a bad video game made by a group of kids who worship Harris and Klebold - but never actually got involved in any real violence themselves, so they amplified the noise of the video game to compensate for that. And it's just bad.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsPretty pointless as far as horror films go. Nothing new or interesting. A basic slasher film seemingly written by an angry high school-er with very little creativity. What it lacks in creativity it doesn't make up for at all. You are better off watching Carrie or even it's awful "sequels"
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsSavage as hell; these two killers sure know how to put on a ruthless show. With that said, I wish the cast were high schoolers. Perhaps this movie would be more convincing.
