It is so bad it gave me headache

The "tulip craze" is a dumb one - and really just the backdrop for Vikander trying to get out of her relationship with a wrinkly old man.

The RT rating is a bit harsh. I watched this on TV and rather enjoyed it. Quite sweet and entertaining.

Some good performnces undone by pure melodramatic shlock.

Tulip Fever falters between being a historical film about the Tulip mania of the 17th century and a romantic period drama. While the performances make the period drama aspects work well enough to be deemed enjoyable, the political parts feel jarring as they appear without good context.

This is a reasonably good period drama. It does feature some fairly raunchy scenes, so it's perhaps not an ideal watch if your with your parents or similar but the story is intriguing and the cast do well in their performances and its somewhat thought provoking too, so not an overly bad film. I quite liked the cinematography too. I would recommend this film, yes.

The story was a little far fetched but still enjoyable. Alicia Vikander was beautiful.

Laughably bad. American producers should stay away from historical European stories as it always ends in tears. The Tulip theme is virtually irrelevant, the script is predictable and banal and the characters are simply modern people in historical dress. Simply not believable. The only positives are the costumes and set designs.

Magnificently scripted, taut plot, Recommend it very highly indeed. For a period piece, this is BRILLIANT.
