- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsAbsolutely loved this film! A must watch!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis feels weird that I also rated Sinister with 3 stars but what can I say. Anyways, the movie itself is somewhat accurate and actually kind of creepy. Now there are so much that they could have improved on like the characters and I wish they did something more than do it on just a screen. The performances aren’t really bad and the Skype aesthetic legit made me avoid Skype as a kid because it made think that it was haunted and it would make you kill yourself. Overall, a good horror movie with major flaws that bring it down a ton. 6/10.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsEffective horror. Interesting idea for a franchise that you felt had almost ran out of those interesting ideas
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsI wasn't expecting much from the premise, but it wasn't bad. The ending sucked horribly and if the main characters were more likeable and relatable, it would have made me more emotionally invested but they were all annoying, entitled brats. So I guess it was still good to see them go.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsThis movie is creepy and traumatising movie to watch
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsUnfriended is a movie that plays with a bold concept: telling the entire story through a computer screen. It’s an innovative approach that captures the modern digital experience, but it’s also limiting. The first act does a solid job setting up tension and showcasing realistic online interactions, but as the story transitions into supernatural horror, it loses some of its grounding. The ghost revenge angle feels less convincing, leaving the movie somewhere between a chilling cautionary tale and a far-fetched slasher. The acting works well for what it is, especially if you see it as a revenge prank gone wrong. However, the supernatural elements don’t fully sell the scares. That said, the integration of music, complete with playlist visuals, is a clever and enjoyable touch. While Unfriended deserves credit for trying something different, it’s missing the depth needed to elevate it to a truly great horror film. I didn’t hate it, but it’s not quite there either.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsThought this movie was interesting. Cool idea with the whole layout of the laptop and all, but overall the movie was just… bleh. No offense, but the acting was just cringe-worthy and near the end it turned into a tough watch. I’m all for unlikable characters because they feel real, but these characters just had absolutely nothing that made me want them to live. I was honestly rooting for ghost girl throughout this, even before the “twist”. Characters were severely underdeveloped and everything was rushed. It escalated quickly and it was just… weird. I seriously debated finishing it near the end and it took a lot of strength not to. Overall, if you want to watch it the couple days it’s left on Netflix or on another streaming service, go ahead. But I would not recommend spending your money on it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIt probably would’ve been better if I could sympathize with the characters. However, they’re all definitely the type of people that bullied me in middle/high school and I was rooting for their downfall. Maybe that’s the point. It had a satisfying ending, at least.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIt's worth a watch while it's still on Netflix. You'll probably get very frustrated by the selfishness that occurs again and again. It is that way by design. A group of friends who are unable to admit to the horrors they've committed. Those who seem the most innocent, are the ones who are the most guilty.
