Absolutely underrated awesome folk horror Irish Straw Dogs, awesome horror thriller with an awesomely bloody ending. And the production quality was very nice

Hannah John-Kamen was remarkable, as usual. The movie itself was fun and surprisingly graphic.

The film goes all over the place for the first half before settling into a tongue-in-cheek gore-soaked home-invasion thriller with a dash of Gremlins to boot. But what annoyed the hell out of me was what I'm seeing as a recent trend.. and that is completely emasculating the male leads in horror films. The husband in this movie struggles with having failed to protect his wife in the opening scene, resulting in a raging temper throughout the rest of the film, which his wife notes at one point. In the final act, the script goes OUT OF ITS WAY to reduce the husband to a sniveling, whining, useless boob, crying and begging for his life. When he seems to finally be getting his hero moment in the end, he's quickly shot because getting that laugh is more important than his character arc. It's pathetic and I don't see the point.

Sayang oras. Mas lamang ang comedy kesa sa horror. Predictable ang istorya. Nakakatawa pa na halatang halata na manika lang ang karga nilang baby.

Genuinely one of the worst films I've watched, and not just because I'm Irish, although every Irish character was a trove of stereotypes and either crazy, drunk or an awful person. The plot was hopeless, making less sense the further on you get until you arrive at the ending which couldn't make less sense if it tried. The character development is generally awful, again, especially towards the end, but some dialogue between the characters will actually make you wonder if the writer ever spoke to a human if you think about it, and the research into the movie plot is pretty bad. Might just be mad cause of the Irish thing, but it has no business having a Warner Brother title screen. Could've been a great movie, not unwatchable but not worth your time, when watching just couldn't help but think "What?". Goodluck

I had high hopes for this film, started out good then drove of a cliff. The idea was excellent, but the execution was...., well, was. Not meaning to tell any spoilers, but, could tell most of it was filmed at a indoor set, really takes the brooding atmosphere away. And I do believe that the critters should have remained on the edge of vision, almost but not quite full frontal. Just something that gnaws at you. The animatronics were sub par, and just...., well, just. A swing and a foul ball.

Really inconsistent storyline and somewhat ridiculous supernatural elements that are at times (I think) unintentionally comical, but it's just so bizarre that it keeps your attention regardless.
