Well, I see that a lot of people love this. But to me it is like musical "reality TV" show that has the entire life of a group of folks in one endless episode. There is no big rousing hit song, The plot is sort of cliche (endless cliches one after the other.) However I can understand where some people would like this a lot. But for me, I was glad when it was over.

"Waitress" the musical, has made its way from the Broadway stage to the screen, allowing audiences to experience its magic without attending a live performance. This adaptation features the talented Sara Bareilles in the leading role, bringing her captivating presence to the forefront. Although the production is lengthy, I was genuinely surprised by how exceptional it turned out to be. I found every aspect of it to be near perfection, thoroughly enjoying each moment. The music was outstanding, the acting was remarkable, and the cast delivered a flawless performance. I couldn't find anything that detracted from my enjoyment; it was simply fantastic. The music stood out so much that hearing "butter, sugar" brought a wave of joy, as it beautifully complemented the score throughout the film. I must say, Sara Bareilles was nothing short of brilliant in her role. It's astonishing that she hasn't received numerous awards for her performance. The conclusion, with her singing "sugar flower," made the experience even more enchanting. I wholeheartedly recommend this production, especially for fans of musicals and theater. It truly is a flawless gem.

So good! Waitress has always been on my radar and I’ve never been able to experience it live - this was honestly such a good alternative! Everything that I thought waitress was about, was that but so much better! Do watch it!

Sara Bareilles is a brilliant songwriter and charismatic performer. She knows how to write a musical, too. Props. I just don't care for the plot...Hickville waitress doesn't want the baby she's having with her hillbilly husband whom she doesn't like or love. But, she bakes good pies... and salvation is created. Meh...

Hmm, the best part was When He Sees Me but I think the whole story was a bit too dragging and some of the songs I didn't connect with for a musical. I would love to see a new Kimiko play focusing on Dawn's story and with more scenes like that of Ogie. And maybe more with the When He Sees Me arrangement where audiences are reminded of each character's theme song just like how Hamilton did it.
