Action-packed, fun, easy to follow and with a fluid and appealing cinematography. Entertaining all the way through. Satisfying in every moment

Han is such a chill guy. They didn't need him to play a villan when he's so cute and lovely. Luke Evans should have played the villan and the movie would have been so much better imo.

Action in the start - flat in the middle - bit more action at the end. Predictable with the humour failing. Don't waste your time.

MIT 200 KM/H ZUM DELFINE RETTEN Der Cop John Lawler soll eigentlich nur Urlaub machen, doch haftet er sich lieber an die Fersen des Drogendealers Kwang in Taipei. Dieser hat jedoch ganz andere Sorgen, denn Raymond, der Sohn der Frau die er vor 15 Jahren zu sich nahm, als diese niemanden hatten, hinter geht ihn. Ein wichtiges Buch wurde gestohlen und Kwang schickt seine Stiernacken Einheit um es wieder zu beschaffen. Weekend in Taipei geht ca. 101 Minuten und ist ab 16 Jahren freigegeben. Wir haben hier Luke Evans in der Hauptrolle dieses Actionstreifens. Schnelle Autos, coole Action und flapsige Sprüche, ja sind wir denn hier in F&F? Bei der Wischiwaschi Story könnte man das wirklich meinen, aber darf F&F ein ganzes Genre für sich beanspruchen? Dann dürfte es ja nie wieder andere Filme dieser Art geben, außer F&F und das will wirklich keiner. Ich mochte besonders die erste Hälfte, denn die bietet Slapstick, einen tollen Fight in einer Küche und einen geilen Ferrari. Es hätte mir klar sein müssen das man diesen Spaß nicht bis zum Schluss bekommt, denn bereits der Schwenk zu Kwangs Frau inklusive Kind zeigen die große Schwachstelle. Der Sohn ist nämlich eine Greta und will Kwang zu Fall bringen weil seine Schiffe Delfine töten, japp, das ist der ganze Auslöser des Plots. Es gibt massig Logiklöcher und Plot Begünstigungen wo man hin schaut. Dies wäre ja zu verschmerzen wenn der Rest stimmen würde, allerdings wird nach der Hälfte ein Familiendrama aufgemacht nachdem niemand gefragt hat. Vorbei sind die Kämpfe, schnellen Autos und Sprüche, willkommen im Einheitsbrei. Am Ende bleibt ein Werk das gut anfängt und als hirnloser Actionstreifen mit dummen Sprüchen gut funktioniert hätte, da man aber mehr sein wollte schießt man sich lieber ins eigene Knie. Von mir bekommt der Film 5,5/10 Punkten. Kwang selbst ist Sauer, auf eigentlich alles. Denn seine Frau liebt ihn nicht, sein Sohn hintergeht ihn und überhaupt alle sind gegen ihn, dabei bringt er doch nur Leid und Elend in die Welt, versteh einer die Menschheit.

Too many unrealistic scenes and fight scenes. A better director would have enhanced it.

Was looking forward to this one…but was totally disappointing. Don’t let wannabe gangsters consult on movies cause you get horrible writing, casting and directing. Coulda been a great opportunity to showcase Taiwan, but it turned out just a wannabe Fast & The Furious. To think Taiwanese people were actually involved in the decision making for this movie is a joke.

It's not the worst action B movie out there, but it's not among the best. Weekend in Taipei utilizes its two biggest stars to elevate its formulaic storyline, offering enough entertainment to pass a dull evening.

‘WEEKEND IN TAIPEI’ is a mid and gullible attempt to to mix family in the world of espionage. It delivered in the action but was unable to capture us with the story, it's a movie you forget about immediately you watch it.

Luc Besson has created yet another entertaining movie with excellent acting and a great ending! Plenty of action, a great story, and a realistic family dynamic. Definitely one of my new favorite movies!

OK as action flick and don't try to use your logical mind as you watch. Quite a few WTF sequences that are laughably too convenient and make the movie less credible/legit.
