Wild Oats
audience Reviews
, 37% Audience Score- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsWhy would a decent cast agree to participate in such a poor and unfunny script / story?
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsAnother movie about silly, horny old ladies. Too bad it’s a waste of a good cast
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI can’t even comment on this movie - it was so ridiculous — just bad!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI thought this movie was funny and I never like anything!
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely atrocious! Just about everything about this movie is horrible. The writing feels like it was written by a 10-year old. The acting is half-hearted. I had no idea that Jessica Lange couldn't act at all. In fact, I was wondering if she was drunk while making this movie. I couldn't wait for it to end. And here I thought Ms. Mclaine was choosy about the films she made. Ha! I guess she'll do anything for the money these days.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis movie was like a cheap wanna be remake of thelma and louise. no wonder it only made 21k at the box office, this movie sucks. the acting isn't great which is surprising from jessica lang, the plot pacing is bad and the writing of the movie is awful and dragged for an hour and a half too long. i'm so disappointed.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis is an overlooked gem of a movie. It is a very funny and very touching story about the friendship between two older women - a widow and her friend who has (spoiler alert) a bad illness. They have a grand adventure and (spoiler alert) it is not a down story but an up one. Jessica Lang and Shirley McClain are great. They are dignified and funny and brilliant and pretty and they embrace older age don't try to play it down. It is a wish fulfilling fantasy about a computer glitch leading to a financial windfall for a beleaguered widow. There is also a book about the making of the movie that Shirley wrote and that you can download on Audible, but book aside the movie is great.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIt was ok overall as it had its moments along with a great cast, but the story didn't really flow at times or seem believable to go with the plot.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars"Wild Oats" is just a fun movie from beginning to end. Moves right along. Shirley MacLaine and Jessica Lange are hilarious together.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsThe pleasure of watching Shirley Maclaine and Jessica Lange is offset by sitting through such a ridiculous - no, to be frank, stupid - script. There were a half dozen pivots in this film where some credibility could have been inserted which would have made for some laughs but the writers each time chose to go for idiotic instead. I added a half star in sympathy to these brilliant actors for the ordeal they must have suffered when they attended the preview.
