🇲🇽 Esta comedia dramática de carretera de Alfonso Cuarón narra la historia de dos adolescentes y una atractiva mujer mayor que se embarcan en un viaje por carretera a través de México para aprender cosas sobre la vida, la amistad, el sexo y de ellos mismos. Pero la película va mucho más allá de este entrañable trío, brillantemente interpretado por Maribel Verdú, Gael Garcia Bernal y Diego Luna. Su historia se yuxtapone con gran acierto al contexto político y económico de México a finales del siglo XX. Cuarón demuestra un dominio excepcional al retratar las percepciones sociales de su país de forma auténtica e inquietante como telón de fondo, mientras el triángulo amoroso se va desenvolviendo hasta confrontar a los personajes con sus verdades más crudas. El final, inesperado y melancólico, nos recuerda que la vida dista mucho de ser un cuento de hadas, y que los seres humanos somos, ante todo, profundamente complejos.

A movie that has a young Diego Luna & Gael García Bernal and it is incredible. It's so good, so much emotion and relatability. Fue muy buena y me encantó, tanto de lo que ví.

One of the iconic films from México. 23 years passed since I watched it in theaters until I watched it again, and unlike others, didn'd dissapointed me at all. All the opposite; that's the trademark of a good work

I doubt this movie could be made today, so if you're interested in a realistic portrayal of teenage sexual behavior (albeit with actors in their 20s), better watch it before they take it down or censor it. They got away with it because it is a "foreign" film. A road/buddy film of sorts, but it's about sex from the first frame. not in a prurient way but how humans experience it.

A coming of age road trip film. I think it's a success because it's Mexican, more passionated and more sentimental.

While it may be as sexy as anything you will may seen for the longest time- it is the brilliant performances, youthful sense of adventure and emotional depth, in which the sexy-ness occurs, that makes "Y tu madre tambien" such a stand-out film. The sex is a factor, but it is not the X-factor. My favourite road-trip film, ever.

First rate erotic drama thanks to a superb cast and Alfonso Carol's unflinching direction. The actors are excellent, with both Gael Garcia Bernal & Diego Luna making star making turns. However, it is Maribel Verdu who owns the film as the older woman who commands them both. Behind the camera, Cuaron gives an unflinching look at young love and romance, showing how naive you can be at a young age while contrasting with the jadedness of being older. A great, erotic film all-around and unique from beginning to end.
