You, Me & Her
audience Reviews
, 86% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis film should be required viewing for any indie filmmaker with a dream to successfully get their projects to an audience. It’s a strong example of what’s possible when a filmmaker commits fully to telling a personal story without waiting for permission. The story itself is engaging, centered around a couple facing a real, relatable roadblock in their relationship. There’s a grounded honesty in the way their struggles are portrayed, which makes it easy to connect with their journey. The film consistently rises above what you might expect from a typical indie. It’s visually thoughtful, well-paced, and clearly made with intention. The technical aspects never distract from the emotional core; instead, they serve the story quietly and effectively. It’s the kind of movie that reminds you that elevated indie filmmaking isn’t about flashy production value — it’s about clarity of vision and emotional resonance. Beyond the film itself, the story of how it made its way to theaters is just as important. Watch the film, but also take time to learn about the incredible amount of work, resilience, and creativity that went into getting it in front of an audience. It’s a real-world example of independent film succeeding on its own terms — not because it had the biggest budget, but because the filmmakers refused to be ignored. For filmmakers serious about carving their own path, this is a film (and a journey) worth studying.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsRom Com without the com. Would loved a script pass either making it zanier or more seriocomic. But the cinematography is nice!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI LOVED this movie. Especially the talk they have on the steps at the end. It killed me that they both had secrets literally a drawer apart!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOn our flight home from vacation with American Airlines, my husband and I came across "You Me & Her" starring Selina Ringel—and we loved it! The film tackles the struggles of young marriages with humor and an open-minded approach to intimacy, even involving other people. Selina's performance was fantastic, adding charm to the story. It was both funny and relatable, making it a perfect watch. Highly recommend!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsCan we please have more auteur-driven romantic comedies like this? It's genuinely funny, refreshingly smart, and bursting with heart. More indie films like this, please.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars“You, Me & Her” Mags (Selina Ringel) and Ash’s (Ritesh Rajan) marriage has hit a wall. She is the breadwinner of the family while he thinks he will be a big time cannabis entrepreneur. They take a long overdue vacation, without their baby, and plan to relax and reconnect once again. Then, the beautiful and free-spirited Angela (Sydney Park) enters the scene and sparks fly in unexpected ways for “Me, You & Her.” The first problem I have with the story, directed by Dan Levy Dagerman and written by Selina Ringel, is Ash. Within minutes of the start, it was obvious that this was not a partnership marriage but an adult-child relationship. Mags works hard at her business, though her father does not give her the free rein she needs. Ash, on the other hand, is supposed to be the stay at home dad and take care of things, like the baby. Instead, he gets stoned. Things reach a head and he declares a “special romantic vacation” just for them. Then, his credit card is declined and she must pay for the trip. Once there, his “romantic” plans take a back seat to his scoring pot. Again, he screws things up. Mags attends a beach yoga session, run by Angela, without her husband, and the two women hit it off and an attraction begins. She tells Ash about the encounter and his reaction is that he may be part of a threesome. Yay! This begins a comedy of errors as he tries to pursue his passion to silly results. Back to the Ash problem. There is little chemistry between the two members of the married couple but lots between the two woman. IMHO, Mags should have dumped Ash and run off to Tahiti with Angela and the baby. That would have been a more convincing and satisfying outcome. C+
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsInteresting screenplay and the acting was very authentic. Definitely a different take on a marriage crisis and one that is thought provoking.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsClever story that opens a new conversation about open minded couples discovering new horizons in the relationship. Plus the film is non stop fun and it shows another part of Mexico far from narcos.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI lovedddd this movie!!! It’s so important to show taboo issues in relationships. Most couples go through periods of disconnection in long term relationships and this movie takes you through that journey in the most fun way! I loved Selina’s acting! I can’t wait to see what she does next.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSurprisingly moving and genuine. A movie that opens minds, gets people talking, and, perhaps most importantly, is a ton of fun. Absolutely worth the watch!
