Yu-Gi-Oh!
audience Reviews
, 49% Audience Score- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsAs much as I am a massive fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, the film itself is less than stellar. I really do not know where to begin with whether this is based upon a plot that not only does not seem to go anywhere throughout the entire film, but makes little to no sense. Even though Joey and Tristan both provide a bit of comic relief, the characters and villain lack any sort of development or growth that pretty much led a rather underwhelming and disappointing animated feature. I would possibly recommend sticking to either the animated series or the other two films Bonds Beyond Time and the Dark Side Dimensions which fares slightly better.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsLoved Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid and still love it as an adult. This film adaptation was a fun time across the board.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMost countries are unable to offer adequate financial or social support for individuals suffering from physical dysphoria; consequently, many individuals suffer from this chronic lack of care. Now let's say Japan's social climate in Yugioh is similar to the real-life Japan. The healthcare for trans individuals would be dismal. Let's say hypothetically, Yugi Mutou is trans. What a depressing situation our protagonist finds himself in. What resources does Yugi have to his name other than some dusty old Alzheimer-ridden Pharaoh. His prospects are bleak. His income subpar. Would he have the support of his friends? Seto Kaiba. Now let's talk about Capitalism. Kaiba is what we call a one-percenter. He holds the majority of the wealth, the unjust distribution of wealth gives Kaiba a near-unlimited amount of freedom. Kaiba only has one thing he cares about in the world. A card game. He would do anything Anything. To play against this little pipsqueak. How can Yugi focus on playing Yugioh when the medical system plays him for a fool. A problem naturally arises and with it, a clear solution. Kaiba would pay for Yugi Mutou's top surgery. Not because he likes him. Or because he cares for him as an individual. He needs to support his mental health so that he may continue to duel with him.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat movie if you enjoyed the original TV series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe greatest 1.5 hours ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI admit it, i am not a fan of the Yu gi oh anime even though i grew up with it. My problems with the anime are that the story was overly complicated for me to understand. And the characters are forgettable to the point where i can't remember most of their names or personalities. And most of those problems reside in this movie. The plot is overly complicated and the characters are as forgettable as last week's lunch. And it doesn't help that the voice acting is abysmal (even for 4Kids standards), and the fact that this is nothing but a blatant advertisement. But the animation is somewhat OK (i guess). but that is not nearly enough to save this poorly acted, overly complicated, forgettable, blandly animated, advertisement.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsMy five-year-old daughter wanted to watch it, and I must say I was surprised she sat through the whole thing, as I struggled to stay awake. It's basically an infomercial for selling their trading cards. I suppose some of the animation is decent (what likely helped keep my daughter engaged), but the script is in the "so bad it's really bad" territory.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsplease make a sequel to this movie!! I'm a big fan of movies dating back to 2004 and then it's time to make a sequel! the 1st was simply brilliant! see at the top! this follows after Battlecity .. and there should be a sequel because there will always be something new and it would be time for Yugi to take the stage again! the true yugioh of our time must return! People like me know very well that this film was a great success here in Quebec! and that's why it would be recommended to make a sequel to it :)!
