About as funny as Airplane! but unintentionally so.

Movie is entertaining, with a fast moving plot. I soon realized the spoof Airplane is nearly a scene by scene remake, with indentical characters and verbatim dialogue Made me appreciate Airplane even more.

Great as it was the basis for the classic 80’s comedy movie ‘Airplane!’ Brilliant

Airplane! must have been largely inspired by this film. That may be it's greatest virtue, er, point of interest. Campy is the word and this film lives it.

Corny, campy fun. The inspiration for the classic comedy Airplane.

Decent WW2 fighter shots. Cliché plot. Cockpit scenes not very convincing (you don't grasp the control wheel with both hands... even on a DC4!) Landing was awful... he could have easily nailed the 120 approach speed... he had a decent glideslope established, instead he seriously bent a DC4. I suppose this stuff sold cinema seats...

It’s so tense and self-serious it becomes rather silly. So silly its plot was spoofed in the classic “Airplane!”

This is the movie the the comedy "Airplane" spoofed. They copied so many lines.

this is the parody of the 80s comedy airplane! I never knew this ! it's decent but it was hard for me not to laugh because most of scenes in this you think of airplane! ! look at it as a serious airplane movie Shirley!

Good for its time but aside from popularizing a genre, the dialogue was slightly under par for films of the 50s.
