Christopher Mintz-Plasse
Not since Sean Penn played the surfer/stoner dude Spicoli in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (1982) had a relatively unknown actor stolen a teen movie as effortlessly as Christopher Mintz-Plasse did in Judd Apatow's summer sleeper hit, "Superbad" (2007). As Fogell, the skinny nerd with nerves of steel, Mintz-Plasse looked like Clark Kent but thought he was Superman. And like that bifurcated character, Fogell also had an alter ego - the super-smooth ladies man McLovin - whose pitch-perfect name became a pop icon plastered on T-shirts, bumper stickers, and computer screensavers the world over that summer. Making the character part of the cultural landscape was quite an accomplishment, considering not only his young age, but more importantly, the fact that this was Mintz-Plasse's first movie role.
