Kimora Lee Simmons

As the self-proclaimed queen of "Fabulosity," Kimora Lee Simmons transformed from a lanky Midwestern girl to a couture model to a successful businesswoman. The brains and beauty behind the Baby Phat label, she launched her career as a high-fashion model when she was still in her teens. At 14, Simmons became the face of Chanel and muse for its eccentric designer Karl Lagerfeld. Her modeling career gave way to a professional and romantic partnership with Russell Simmons, founder of Def Jam Records and a pioneer in urban fashion with his Phat Farm label. Alongside her husband, Simmons launched Baby Phat, a label that attracted women of various ethnicities, sizes and walks of life. She served as the creative and managing force behind Baby Phat, yet Simmons also made time to raise a family and maintain a lavish, over-the-top lifestyle. While her marriage with Russell did not last, Simmons kept a professional relationship with him. In 2007, she came out of his shadows when she starred on the hit reality series "Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane" (Style, 2007-2011). The show followed Simmons as she balanced being a savvy mogul and caring mother, while also promoting her growing fashion and lifestyle empire.
