Kristin Harms

When it comes to the beloved NBC TV series "The West Wing," the name that automatically comes to mind is that of writer-creator Aaron Sorkin. But to pull off the kind of well-oiled success that Sorkin had with the show, he needed an able behind-the-scenes group of collaborators. One such person for "The West Wing" was Kristin Harms, and her Emmy Award nominations speak to her success. For seven consecutive years beginning in 2000, her efforts led to a Best Dramatic Series nomination. The show won the prize for the first four years and remains one of the great contemporary examples of top-notch network dramatic TV. Harms' resume prior to "The West Wing" gives no real indication that she could pull off such wizardry, but she did find time during her run to also produce a handful of episodes of the medical series "Third Watch." It may seem strange after her dramatic TV work, but she started out her producing career in '95 on the 20th Century Fox TV movie "The Omen."
