Ruth Morley

Renowned costume designer for film, theater, TV and opera who began her career designing costumes for the 1951 stage production of "Billy Budd" while also serving as designer for the New York City Opera's 1951-52 season. Noted for her period designs and Oscar-nominated for "The Miracle Worker" (1962), Morley was also adept at creating natural contemporary styles for such films as "Taxi Driver" (1976), "Kramer vs. Kramer" (1979) and was brought to widespread public attention for Diane Keaton's baggy outfits in "Annie Hall" (1977). Her Broadway designs include "A Thousand Clowns," "Toys in the Attic," "Inherit the Wind," and "Take a Giant Step."
