Tim Hobert

A network higher-up in the half-hour comedy world of the 1990s and 2000s, television executive Tim Hobert has also been fortunate enough to work with actor brother Michael Hobert on a number of projects. The non-acting sibling got his start in 1996 as a story editor for the Gary David Goldberg/Bill Lawrence sitcom "Spin City." Along with being the first show both Hoberts landed jobs on, it is also where Tim Hobert began a professional relationship with Lawrence. When "Spin City" ended in 2001 and the latter created the surreal hospital dramedy "Scrubs" the following year, he tapped Tim Hobert to be a writer for the show, later promoting him to co-executive producer, consulting producer, and finally executive producer. (Michael Hobert also played a semi-recurring character named Lonnie on the program). Following the show's second Outstanding Comedy Series nod in 2006, Tim Hobert left to be a writer/executive producer on the Fox series "'Til Death" and a writer/co-executive producer on the NBC sitcom "Community" before bouncing over to ABC to co-executive produce the Patricia Heaton comedy "The Middle," reuniting him with Neil Flynn of "Scrubs."
