(Boca Raton, FL - May 31, 2000) – MovieTickets.com, Inc. today announced its successful launch, generating online sales of more than 18,000 movie tickets over the Memorial Day weekend. Orders for online movie tickets came from 27 states and covered 35 different films, ranging from current box office hits like "M:I-2" and "Dinosaur" to revivals of such classic movies as "Lawrence of Arabia" and "The Shining."
"We are thrilled by the strong sales results of MovieTickets.com in just its first few days of operation. Not only did the online ticket sales exceed our initial expectations, but it did so with minimal advertising support," said Mitchell Rubenstein, co-CEO of MovieTickets.com, Inc. "For MovieTickets.com, this wasn't a case of 'Mission Impossible' so much as it is Mission Accomplished. Page views on the site are already approaching one million."
