Muvico Theater Chain Includes One of the Top 10 Grossing Theaters in North America
MovieTickets.com Now Offers Online Ticketing for Theater Chains with Half of the 100 Top Grossing Movie Theaters in North America
(Boca Raton, FL - October 10, 2000) – MovieTickets.com, Inc., an online movie ticketing service, today announced that it has expanded its online ticketing to include the industry-leading Muvico Theaters in Florida. One of the theaters, the Muvico Paradise 24 in Davie, has frequently been among the top 10 grossing theaters in North America. Muvico Theaters average 19.5 screens per location, the highest in the industry.
Known for its luxurious, high tech theaters, Muvico redefines the moviegoing experience. Their trend-setting theater circuit features such amenities as stadium seating, reserved seating, the newest in digital sound in all auditoriums, wall-to-wall curved screens and specially designed seats with doublewide, cushioned and retractable cup-holder armrests so moviegoers can "cuddle up" during their movie. Additional features include reserved parking, a children's playroom and exclusive balcony sections. In addition to the usual popcorn and candy, Muvico Theaters also offers such treats as freshly prepared hot pizza, chicken wings, crispy chicken breasts, French fries, international coffees and more.
In addition to the Paradise 24, the participating Muvico Theaters include the new Muvico Palace 20 in Boca Raton, the Muvico Pompano 18 in Pompano Beach, the Muvico Hialeah 14 in Hialeah, the Muvico Pointe 21 and IMAX Theater® in Orlando, the Muvico Starlight 20 in New Tampa, and the Muvico Palm Harbor 10 in Palm Harbor -- representing a total of 128 movie screens.
By the end of this year, Muvico expects to open four more movie theaters with 84 additional screens - all of which will be covered by MovieTickets.com's online ticketing service. The four new theaters are scheduled to open in Baltimore, MD, and in three additional Florida cities: St. Petersburg, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
The announcement was made jointly by Mitchell Rubenstein, Co-Chairman of MovieTickets.com, Inc., and Hamid Hashemi, President & CEO of Muvico Theaters, which is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
"MovieTickets.com is pleased to have the Muvico Theaters as part of our online ticketing family.
